Pedals on the Path

Taking part in Pedals on the Path on 24^th October presents a great opportunity to raise money for our charity partner, Western Chances, which provides scholarships to talented and self-motivated young people in Melbourne’s western suburbs, to remove financial and cultural barriers that can prevent young people from realising their potential.

We’ve partnered with the Online Giving Foundation (www.onlinegiving.com.au) again this year to make it easier for you to raise much needed funds by setting up your own fundraising page and getting people to sponsor you online and leave you messages of encouragement to make it across the finish line.

Planning is underway for Pedals on the Path 2010 with some new faces in the Organising Group.

It will again be a Walk, Run and either a 10km or 22km Ride with the aim is to raise $10,000 for Western Chances .

Thanks for taking part in Pedals on the Path next Sunday 11^th October to raise money for Western Chances. 

Taking part in this event is not only good for you, it also presents a great opportunity for you to help others less fortunate than yourself by raising even more money for Western Chances. It’s really easy to do by setting up your own Online Giving fundraising page and getting people to sponsor you online and leave you messages of encouragement to complete your ride.

All you need to do is:

1. set up your free Online Giving page by clicking on this link and following the prompts: http://www.onlinegiving.com.au/Fundraiser/FundraiserRegistration.aspx?CharityId=656&EventId=490

You can personalise your page by uploading a different photo, writing why you’re raising money for Western Chances and setting yourself a fundraising goal  

1. email your friends and contacts the link directly to your fundraising page, where they can securely donate online to Western Chances.  Each donation is recorded on your page along with any message of support from your friends.  You’ll also be able to see your funds raised real-time and how close you are to achieving your fundraising target
2. that’s it!  It’s a really simple and secure way of raising more money for Western Chances and the messages your friends post on your page will motivate you to make it to the finish line.

It only takes a few minutes to set up your page and will make a real difference to helping people in need.  Thanks for your support!
